This official Master aims to introduce students to research in the humanities and social sciences. The practical applications of this knowledge may include improvement in the classes they teach at secondary schools, conducting cultural trend analysis studies or continuation of research activities.

You must have a European bachelor's degree or equivalent. Academic record, professional experience, affinity of studies with regard to the Master, personal interview and a questionnaire will be assessed.

Programa

The curriculum of the University Master in Humanistic and Social Studies is structured into two optional programmes - Cultural Studies and Thomistic Studies -and these are further split into three complementary modules: anthropology, social studies and the Master's thesis. Each module includes specific courses, which will help the students to start their self-led research and define their academic interests.

  • Current Anthropological Issues Optional. 5 ECTS
  • Current Social Issues Optional. 5 ECTS
  • Drafting and defense of Master's thesis. Mandatory. 15 ECTS
  • Human Life in the Political Community. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Homine Treatises. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Re Publica Treatises. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Human Nature and Personal Being. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Anthropological Research Project. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Social Research Project. Mandatory. 5 ECTS
  • Methodological Seminar. Mandatory. 5.0 ECTS

Informação adicional

The University Master in Social and Humanistic Studies is taught in a blended learning approach, with mandatory follow-up and attendance sessions for the students on Fridays from 16:00h to 20:15h
