Many professionals in the fields of law and mental health, from recent graduates to experienced practitioners, have recently drawn attention to the deficiencies of formal education in the areas of clinical, legal and forensic pathology, and have called for major improvements in the educational programming relating to these disciplines.This Master’s programme hopes to answer that call, and to prepare professionals to meet the present and future demands of the mental health, legal studies and forensic disciplines in two principal ways:By providing future mental health specialists with excellent academic and professional skills in order to advance their expertise in the legal arena and diverse fields in both the public and private sectors.And by improving the level and quality of professional and personal skills in applied psychopathology amongst legal professionals (lawyers and prosecutors).This unique Master’s programme offers both the methodological and practical tools necessary for professional development and specialised expertise in various fields: forensics, psychiatry, psychology, criminology, and law in general.

Programa
Curriculum
The academic year is divided into two semesters, in which students take required courses, electives, and monographic courses in their area of specialisation.
First Semester (30 credits)
- Epistemology and General Psychopathology (Required course, 10 credits)
- Psychopathology in the stages of life: Infancy, Adolescence, Adulthood, and Old Age (Required course, 5 credits)
- Psychopathological Intervention in Criminal Law (Required course, 5 credits)
- Psychopathological Intervention in the civil/family field (Required course, 5 credits)
- Psychopathological Intervention in the social/employment, contentious-administrative and canon law fields (Required course, 5 credits)
Second Semester (30 credits)
- Final Master’s thesis or project (Required course, 6 credits)
- Practicum (Required course, 10 credits)
- Elective Courses:
- Criminal Profiles, Violence and Danger Risk Assessment, Treatment of Offenders
- Victim Psychopathology, Domestic Violence, Gender Violence, Child Abuse and Mistreatment
- Required Specialised Courses:
- Forensic Psychiatry. Pharmacological Treatments and Therapeutic Intervention in Forensics.
- Forensic Psychology. Forensic Psychopathology Assessment Tools.
- Criminology. Intervention Assessment in Legal Sciences and Criminal Policy.
