Year 1 - CertHE Modules may include: Scottish History,1066-1603 Scottish History,1603-20th Century The Atlantic World: The Old World Meets the New Gaelic for Learners 1A Gaelic for Learners 1B Gaelic Story and Song The Gaelic World 1 Year 3 - BA Students in third year will undertake the Historiographical Essay module. You will also choose five option modules, which may include: Scotland and Ireland Emigration from the Highlands and Islands since 1750 Scots in Poland, Poles in Scotland Crown-Magnate Relations in Later Medieval Northern Scotland Scotland in Film Traditional Culture Nationalism and National Identity Developing Communities in the 21st century Year 2 - DipHE Modules may include: Land and People: The Scottish Highlands Scotland, the North Sea and the Baltic Travelling Cultures, Global Diasporas Gaelic for Learners 2A Introduction to Gaelic Poetry The Gaelic World 2 Year 4 - BA (Hons) Students in fourth year are required to undertake a dissertation module in Scottish History. You will also choose four option modules, which may include: Culture and Christianity in the Highlands and Islands A Society at War? Scotland, 1296-1403 Noble, Rebel, King: Robert Bruce and Medieval Scotland Merchants, Mariners and Maritime Marauders: Scottish Trade in the Early Modern Period Traditional Culture in the 21st Century Sustainable Development Language Policy in the Workplace
