Are you a physiotherapist interested in your studying the Mézièrist method? French physiotherapist Françoise Mézières developed an innovative method to treat body imbalances. She invented postural re-education and was a trailblazer for global therapy methods in Europe. The Mézières Method has continued to develop since then, incorporating the scientific advances of recent years without sacrificing its essence or originality.Global physiotherapy aims to restore balance to the various myofascial chains through a personalised programme. The Mézièrist physiotherapist treats imbalances by rooting out the primary cause of an injury, correcting and monitoring the various compensatory mechanisms seen over the course of the session.After a detailed analytical and global clinical examination, posture imbalances are evaluated and a diagnosis reached as to the state of the myofascial and articular chains. The Mézières Method uses global stretching and manual, myofascial and joint mobilisation techniques in combination with specific breathing work.By evening out myofascial tension and through articular adjustment and training of the proprioceptive system that controls posture, we can achieve posture realignment and pain relief. This therapeutic approach, based on a conception of the body as a functional unit, requires the active participation of the patient, which is essential in order to firmly entrench the new body dynamics in the central nervous system.This post-graduate course is recognised by the IFGM (Instituto de Fisioterapia Global Mézières) and the AMIK (Association Mézièriste Internationale de Kinésithérapie). After successfully completing the programme, physiotherapists will be eligible for membership to the AMIF (Asociación Mezierista Iberoamericana de Fisioterapia) and will be included in the register of physiotherapists using the Mézières Method. 1. Active myofascial stretching: global posture

Stretches for the myofascial chains involved in morphostatic imbalances

Posture re-education through symmetrical work while lying down (supine position) and upright (sitting and standing)

Respiratory balance. Predominance of the myofascial chains and respiratory typologies. The concept of form/function improvement.

2. Manual therapy techniques associated with posture re-education: myofascial therapy, neuromuscular techniques, articular adjustment, etc.

3. Spiral dynamics work with the limbs and rhythmic waist movements
