The purpose of this module is to meet the needs of health and social care professionals who are required to promote the development of colleagues and students. The intention of this module is to provide an opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding essential for delivery of high quality professional practice.This module aims to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding required of those who educate and develop others within healthcare or social care settings. Whilst the focus of the module will be learning support and assessment of junior and learner professionals, the knowledge and skills gained will also aid practitioners in their role as educators of service users, clients and carers.The module aims to provide a rich learning experience through which practitioners will develop and become more reflective on their own practice so that they are able to better facilitate the learning of others and become critically aware role models...........................................................................................................................................................................This module can be taken as part of the BSc Nursing Studies top up degree. If you wish to complete a top-up degree, please apply directly on the Nursing Studies programme webpage. If you would still like to complete this module as a CPPD student but would like to complete a top-up degree at a later date, please note that you will only be able to transfer a maximum of 30 credits which have been awarded within 5 years prior to the start date of the programme (top-up degree).   • Overview

The purpose of this module is to meet the needs of health and social care professionals who are required to promote the development of colleagues and students. The intention of this module is to provide an opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding essential for delivery of high quality professional practice.

This module aims to equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge and understanding required of those who educate and develop others within healthcare or social care settings. Entry requirements for BSc Health Sciences (online) programme:

  • 120 Level 4 credit points and 120 Level 5 credit points in healthcare-related subjects

Entry requirements for study as a stand-alone module:

If you wish to study for this module at City University, which is a degree level module and do not have a diploma, you will need to complete the APEL module beforehand.

English Requirements

For those students whose first language is not English one of the following qualifications is also required:

  • IELTS: 7.0

Please note that due to changes in the UKVI's list of SELTs we are no longer able to accept TOEFL as evidence of English language for students who require a CAS as of April 2014.
