The intention of this module is to enable appropriately qualified experienced nurses and Allied Health Care Professionals to enhance their scope of professional practice by facilitating their development into competent/proficient prescribers. This is keeping with the standards as set out by the NMC (2006), HPCP (2005) & the Department of Health (2006).Collaborative interprofessional approaches will enrich your learning opportunities and encourage you to acquire, critically explore, share, apply and synthesize specialist knowledge and technical expertise fundamental in accountable, proficient prescribing of medicinal products. In addition all students must complete a minimum of 12 days (90 hours) of supervised learning in practice.
